Webinar to examine practical strategies to support effective communication and building trust
ÀÖÓãÌåÓý will hold the next installment of itsÌýBridging Perspectives Webinar Series, “Building Trust: How Intersectionality and Thoughtful Communications Can Help With Building Trust,â€� on January 16, 2025, at 11:00 am MST. The event is part of a public series intended for educators, higher education leaders and administrators, employers, nonprofit organizations, government affiliates, and ÀÖÓãÌåÓý faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
"Effective communication skills are essential in the workplace. By understanding how intersectional identities influence communication, we can help enhance these skills," says Tondra Richardson, MBA, director ofÌýEngagement Strategy & Program Development at the ÀÖÓãÌåÓý and co-host of the series. "Our discussion aims to provide participants with practical strategies for recognizing intersectionality and improving communication, thereby fostering trust."Ìý
Featuring Zhou Fang, the discussion will focus on understanding intersectionality and intersectional identities, as well as the “yes, andâ€� method to communicate thoughtfully. Fang is the founder and principal consultant of , a leadership, people and culture practice with a focus on intersectionality, empathy, compassion, intentionality and curiosity.Ìý
The discussion will be hosted by Tondra Richardson, MBA, director ofÌýEngagement Strategy & Program Development and Saray Lopez, MBA, director, Strategic Initiatives, both with theÌýOffice of Collaborative Learning and Educational Engagement at ÀÖÓãÌåÓý.
